ESHRE Certification Platform

Welcome to the ESHRE Certification Platform.

The ESHRE Certification programmes aim to certify competence and to develop a formal recognition for MAR professionals.

ESHRE has decided to work with a new software-partner from 2025 for the online exam - AssessmentQ and with ProctorExam for the proctoring part during the online exam. As a result, the application process, pre-application requirements, application period and exam date will change from 2025.

You can start your online application at the bottom of this page.

Embryologists

(UPDATE 05/09/2024)

!!! NEW IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ESHRE EMBRYOLOGY CERTIFICATION !!! Application process for the 2025 Embryology exam (basic & advanced level) has changed. !!! Check below the new procedure and exam dates for 2025 !!!

Below are the most important changes in a nutshell:
  • ESHRE Embryology Certification is available to active ESHRE members only. Make sure your membership is active during the whole period until the publication of the results.
  • Your academic qualification (diploma/degree) must be previously validated by NUFFIC before starting your exam application (available from 01/11/2024).
  • The online application form for the 2025 exam will be available from 1 February 2025 until 31 March 2025.
  • The next online Embryology exam (basic & advanced level) will be held around mid-October 2025.
  • The Embryology exam will be online and in English only.
A total maximum of 420 applicants can be accepted to sit the 2025 exam. If the maximum number of applications is reached before the deadline, fully completed electronic applications will be added to the waiting list. Declined or cancelled applications will be replaced by applications from the waiting list until begin of May 2025. By end of June 2025 at the latest, all applicants will be informed whether their application to sit the exam has been accepted or declined.

The online application process will now consist of 2 separate processes:

Process 1: Academic qualification validation process
The Embryology Certification Steering Committee requires an independent recognition of university diplomas/degrees. Therefore, all applicants will first need to have their highest academic diploma/degree validated by NUFFIC (the Dutch organisation for international cooperation in higher education, https://www.nuffic.nl/en/subjects/diploma/education-systems).

The academic qualification validation process is available throughout the year. So, you will be able to do this when it suits you best. Only NUFFIC validated diplomas/degrees will be allowed for the exam. The academic qualification validation process will be coordinated by ESHRE and will be available from 01/11/2024.

After having submitted your diploma/degree validation, you’ll receive a payment link for the academic qualification validation fee. Through ESHRE, you enjoy a very advantageous rate: 50€ (excl. VAT).

Once the fee is paid, ESHRE will send your request for academic qualification validation including the uploaded diploma/degree to NUFFIC. This fee includes only 1 round of diploma/degree validation. It is therefore very important that you upload all required documents before submitting your validation request. Incomplete validation requests which prevent Nuffic from validating an academic qualification will lead to a new validation request for which another 50€ (excl. VAT) will have to be paid.

  • Basic level: hold (at least) a BSc in Natural/Life Sciences
  • Advanced level: hold (at least) a MSc, MD or PhD in Natural/Life Sciences

Please note:
  • Nuffic’s conclusions are final and non-negotiable.
  • Paid fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
Note: Those who have already participated in the Embryology exam before 2025 and already hold a NUFFIC diploma/degree validation of the right level, can immediately proceed to Process 2

Only after your academic qualification validation has been completed and accepted, you will be able to proceed to the second part: Application process.

Process 2: Application process

This part consists of completing and submitting your online application for the corresponding exam level. After submission of your application, you’ll receive a payment link for the application fee: 150€ (excl. VAT).

Only fully completed and correctly submitted applications, for which the exam fee has been received, will be reviewed by the Embryology Certification Steering Committee. As soon as your application is accepted, this will be communicated via the application platform only. Please note that the paid fee is not refundable under any circumstances.

Please note that our Rules & Requirements are under review. Once these are ready, we will put the new edition on the webpage.
